What to Expect

Let's build a fence!

Fence builds are a great way to get involved and help a dog in our community live a life unchained. Fence builds are fun, social events, with everyone working together towards a common goal.

At the completion of each fence build, you’ll witness the moment the dog owner introduces their dog to their new fenced yard where they are able - sometimes for the first time - able to run free while staying safe and secure. It’s a powerful moment.

What is the time commitment?

Typically, fence builds are scheduled on a Saturday and/or Sunday, and last approximately three hours. Volunteers are welcome to join in at any time during the fence build, for as little or as long as they’re able.

Do I need to have experience building fences?

No, you do not need to have any prior fence building experience is. Volunteers will have  opportunities  to work on different aspects of the fence building process.

What should I wear?

  • Wear clothes you do not mind getting a little dirty (or a lot dirty!)
  • Dress with the weather in mind. Layers work best.
  • Wear closed  toed shoes at all times.
  • Sunscreen and hats are recommended.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing work gloves and water. Holly'z Hope provides the rest.

Who should I contact if I questions?

You can contact Karen Walden or Holly Davis at hollyzhope@hotmail.com or 949.800.9816.
